Judie Kay Wilkerson

Judie Kay Wilkerson, 72, passed away on Mon. April 14, 2025, at Edgewood Nursing & Rehab in Byram, MS. Visitation will be held on Thurs. April 17, 2025, from 11am-1pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 1pm Thurs. April 17, 2025, at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Puckett Cemetery.

Mrs. Wilkerson was born on May 18, 1952, in Jackson, MS to the late John Eddie Gates and Elcenia Craft Gates.

To know Judie was to love her. Her family was the center of her world — she spent many years as a devoted navy wife, and she loved wholeheartedly, always placing the needs of others above her own. Her kindness radiated from within, and she always looked for the best in those around her.

We’ll remember her fondly in every board game we play and every meal that we share together. While we grieve her passing, we find comfort in knowing that the love she gave so freely lives on in each of us.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Wilkerson; two children, Corey Boney (Bill) and James Wilkerson II; four grandchildren, Jake Lape, Brooke Boney, Jack Wilkerson and Lucy Wilkerson; two sisters, Kathy Holden, Vickie Kurtz and a brother, Rick Gates. Mrs. Wilkerson is also preceded in death by a sister, Jo Ann Masterson and a brother, John Gates III.
