Jules Brian McKee (1965-2014), age 49, died on November 2 at home after a short and heroic battle with cancer.
Brian was a graduate of Brandon High School (1983) and Ole Miss. He also completed a masters degree in teaching from The University of Memphis. Brian taught high school history and was a writer and editor for Quail Ridge Press. He lived in Cincinnati, San Francisco, Memphis, Tahlequah OK, Port Townsend WA, Austin, Portland OR, and Brandon. Music, books, and dream interpretation were his passions, and history was his hobby.
Jules Brian is survived by his parents Gwen and Barney McKee, his siblings Heather Creel (husband Arty Creel) and Shawn McKee (wife Betsy). Jules Brian (Uncle Buck) is also survived by his nieces and nephews Mercer Ann, Patrick, Corey, Nathan, Harrison, Eva, and Olivia.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, November 8, at 11:00 am at St. Peter’s by-the-Lake Church, 1954 Spillway Road, Brandon, Mississippi with reception to follow at his parents’ home at 158 Pine Ridge Circle, Brandon, Mississippi.
