BURIAL: THE NEW BRANDON CEMETERY ON STAR ROAD
Karen Becker Baxter, 71, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Visitation is 12 noon on Thursday with services to follow at 2 pm at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Burial will follow in The New Brandon Cemetery in Brandon. Rev. Tom Washburn and Dr. Clarence Cooper will officiate.
Mrs. Baxter was the only child of Bill and Becky Becker of Leland, MS. She graduated as the valedictorian of her class of 1957 at Leland High School. After high school she attended and graduated from Mississippi College. While in high school and Mississippi College, she was an accomplished vocalist and pianist and after college she became a fulltime homemaker and was actively involved in her church as a soloist and Bible teacher. At the time of her death, she was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson.
Mrs. Baxter is survived by Dr. Milton B. Baxter, Sr. of Brandon and her four children, Milton Baxter, Jr. of Brandon, Billy Baxter of Brookhaven, Kathy Baxter Gautier and Kris Gautier of Ridgeland, Benny Baxter of Brandon and grandchildren. Mrs. Baxter is also survived by a loving friend, Nancy Davis of Clinton.
