SERVICES: 11 AM MONDAY,NOVEMBER 1, 2010 AT OTT AND LEE FUNERAL HOME IN BRANDON.

BURIAL: LAKEWOOD MEMORIAL PARK

VISITATION: 2-4 PM SUNDAY


Kathryn Stringer Barrett, 83, passed away Friday, October 29, 2010 at her residence. Visitation is 2-4 pm Sunday October 31, 2010 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services are 11 am Monday at the funeral home with burial in Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson. Rev. Rick Cox will officiate.

Mrs. Barrett was born September 27, 1927 to O. L.”Doc” Stringer and Lucile Biglane Stringer. She graduated from Collins High School and attended the University of Southern Mississippi. Mrs. Barrett retired as office manager for Drs. Willard Boggan and Dwight Keady and was a member of Lake Harbor Baptist Church in Brandon.

Her parents, O. L. “Doc” and Lucile Stringer and son, Johnny Herrington preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Grant Barrett of Brandon; daughter, Marcia Bracken and son-in-law, Chris of Terry; granddaughter, Molly Herrington Kirk and husband Matthew of Madison; step sons who were like her own, Rick Barrett of Crystal Springs and Gerry Barrett of Nashville, TN; sister, Nancy Bramlett and husband Ken of Brandon; her precious great grandchildren, Emily Kay Kirk, John Cannon Kirk and Adelaide Lois Kirk all of Madison; step grandchildren, Jaimie Barrett of Madison, Jason Barrett of Clinton and Chance Barrett of Nashville; niece, Pam O’Bryan and husband Patrick of Katy, TX; nephew, John “Bubba” Bramlett of Brandon and her most loving dog, Max. A special thanks to her caregivers, Shonda Calhoun, Lane Ragsdale, Semica Smith and to the staff of Southern Care Hospice.
