Katie Townsend Harpe Gray, 82, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be 4pm until 7pm Thursday at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton, MS. Services are 10am Friday, February 22, 2013, at Crossroads Baptist Church in Rankin County. Interment will follow in Crossroads Cemetery.
Katie was born March 16, 1930 to the late John Enos Townsend and Virgie Noblin Townsend. She was a lifelong resident of Rankin County and a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. Mrs. Gray was also preceded in death by her husband, Anse Henry Gray in 2000 and brother, James Ray Townsend.
Survivors include her children, Huey Clark Harpe, Danny Noblin Gray (wife, Lisa) and Vinson Clay Gray (wife, Bridgette); brother, Henry Townsend ; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and numerous nephews and 2 nieces and a host of friends.
Memorials may be made to Crossroads Baptist Church, Building Fund, 104 Crossroads Road, Pelahatchie, MS 39145.
