Services: 11am Friday, October 25, 2013 at the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton.

Burial: Cooperville Baptist Cemetery.

Katie Louise Owens Sessums, 74 a resident of Morton died Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Chateau Ridgeland Independent Senior Living Community of Ridgeland, MS. Funeral services will be held 11 am Friday, October 25, 2013 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Visitation will be held 5-7 pm Thursday, October 24, 2013 at the funeral home. Rev. Randy Rigney will be officiating. Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton will be in charge of the services.

Mrs. Sessums was a native Scott County. She is the daughter of Thad William and Katie Bell Easterling Owens. She was married to George Prentiss Sessums Sr. She worked many years at Roosevelt State Park in Morton. Mrs. Sessums was a member of the Morton Church of God where she helped start the clothes and food pantry. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School and Bible School, playing cards, watching Hee Haw, reading, traveling and listening to gospel music. She loved her family and spending time with them brought great joy to her life. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

Mrs. Sessums was preceded in death by her husband, George Prentiss Sessums Sr., son, George Prentiss Sessums, Jr. and brothers, Bobby Ray and Ernest Thomas Owens.

Mrs. Sessums is survived by her children, Steve K. (Sandra) Sessums of Hattiesburg, Vivian (Robbie) Jenkins of Pearl and Rochelle Mandi LeGrand (Ed) of Pelahatchie; brother, Rev. W.L. (Sarah) Owens of Winter Haven, FL; special nephew, Eugene Owens of Morton; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
