Mr. Kenneth L. Gray, age 85, a resident of Castlewoods, but formerly of Morton, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2011 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Visitation was held 5-7pm Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Funeral services were held 1pm Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in the Cooperville Baptist Cemetery. Bro. Earl Clark and Bro. Larry Creel officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Mr. Gray was born in Smith County in 1926. He was proud to have served in the US Army in World War II. He received the World War II Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal and the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal. Mr. Gray loved his family very much and enjoyed playing golf. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Maladean Everett Gray; parents, Fred W. Gray and Hannah Leona Kennedy Gray; 5 sisters and 1 brother.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Rogers Gray of Castlewoods; children, Regina Pettus of Brandon and Janet Ray (Mark) of Brandon; sister, Sally Joyce Lyle of Pearl; with his first wife he has 4 grandchildren, Hannah Pettus, Sarah Pettus, Drew Pettus and Allison Quick; 2 step grandchildren, Rachel Ray and Dylan Ray; with his surviving wife he has 5 step children, Lou Stovall (Doug), Fredricka Dilmore (John), June Rogers, Leigh Williams (Don) and Reed Rogers (Vicky); 10 step grandchildren; 13 step great grandchildren and a host of friends.

Memorials may be made in his honor to Hospice Ministries.
