"The man,  The myth, The Legend.  Men wanted to be him and women wanted to be with him."  Kenneth Ray Yount, age 68, aka, "Daddy Ray" departed this life on February 10, 2019.  Visitation will be 5pm-9pm Friday, February 15, 2019 and 9am-1:30pm Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Ott & Lee in Brandon.  Funeral services will be 2pm Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Ott & Lee Chapel in Brandon with burial at Crestview Memorial Gardens on Star Brandon Road.  Rev. Arnie Westerfield will officiate the services.

He had just left the casino which is where he loved being.   Ray was born November 17, 1950.  First son of the late Kenneth Yount and the late Estelle McCrory.  He was raised in Morton, MS by his grandparents, the late Homer McCrory and the late Evie Mae McCrory.  He had a love for the woods and trees which contributed to his lifetime career in logging.  He loved fast cars, a corvette was his favorite and women but most importantly, his Mama.  His favorite past time was fishing.  He had a sweet tooth love for Little Debbie Cakes.  He was best known for his athletic ability of high kicks in which he still was able to do.

He was married to the late, Barbara Jane Blair for 28 years and together they raised three amazing sons, Ray Junior Yount (Stephanie), Kevin Bradley Yount (Melissa) and Bobby Keith Yount (Taylor), son raised as his own, Mikey McGowan (Stephanie).  He leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his nine grandchildren, Hunter Yount, Dalton Yount, Jerry Yount, Brandon Yount, Skylar Yount, Ethan Yount, Axle Yount, Kendall Yount and Nova Yount; 2 great grandchildren, Easton Yount and Emerson Yount.  He was blessed with loving siblings, Lester Yount of Morton, Greg Yount (Cherish) of Morton, David Yount (Amanda) of Morton, Phillip Tait (Daphanie) of Brandon, Ken Yount (Janette) of Morton, Theresa Frickey of LA, Susie Yount Trusely of Idaho, Barbara Yount of South Carolina and Angel Tait of Braxton, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Junior Yount, Kevin Yount and Bobby Yount.  Active pallbearers will be Hunter Yount, Dalton Yount, Jerry Yount, Brandon Yount, Shannon Yount and Taylor McGowan.
