Kevin White

On Friday July 13, 2018, the Lord called his son Kevin James White home to Heaven. Born on December 12, 1974, Kevin was the most caring and friendly soul, ready to help anyone, no matter the task.  He wouldn’t take no for an answer but will never tell anyone no either.  You could find him at home watching his beloved Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta Falcons and the Georgia Bulldogs.

Other than his family and the Lord, Kevin’s love was music.  June Harris let him help around the Southern Gospel radio station in Brandon WRJH/WRKN 97.7FM/1180AM and before you know it, he was the weekend morning DJ, nicknamed ‘The Weekend Warrior” by his co-worker David Steele. He would start every show with the Gospel Singing Jubilee theme song and away he went for six hours with the best in Southern Gospel music.

A few years later, the station was sold, and Kevin was empty.  Then his friend Todd Peavey brought him on with Crossgates Baptist Church TV and Radio ministry.  He made so many lifelong friends there while helping with broadcasts of the morning services and then producing them on CD and DVD for the public.

Kevin had so many medical issues and he fought and surpassed everyone’s estimations.  While we we’re trying to help him and teach him, it was Kevin that was teaching us.  Throughout all his hardships, he showed us how to love unconditionally and without judgement.

Kevin is survived by his Mother and Father, Ronnie and Jamie White; Brother Chris White, Nephews SPC Chance White and Cash White as well as Grandfather CMSgt Billy J Callaway. He is preceded in death by his Paternal grandparents Fred and Elsie White, as well as Maternal grandmother Doris Callaway.  He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that he loved very much.

Also, a special thank you for all the healthcare providers that cared for him throughout his life.

Visitation will be Monday July 16 from 6-8 PM at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS, as well as Visitation Tuesday July 17 at 10AM.  Service will be held at Ott & Lee-Brandon at 11AM with graveside service to follow at Brandon Memorial Gardens.
