Kimberly Dawn DeForest

Kimberly Dawn Doherty DeForrest, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend to many passed away on April 28th, 2024 in Flowood, Mississippi. She was born on June 1st, 1972 in Waynesboro,  Mississippi and leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Kim's devotion to her family was unwavering. Her husband Jerry DeForrest; sons Cody Joseph DeForrest and Jacob Hunter DeForrest; daughter-in-law Emilee Kyle Deforrest; father Randy Doherty; mother Sherry Doherty; sister Penny Doherty; brothers Randall Doherty and Payton Doherty; as well as several nieces and nephews mourn the loss of an extraordinary woman whose presence brought warmth and joy into their lives.

Her first love was always her family. Kim found immense happiness in spending time with them—whether it was through sharing laughter around the dinner table or creating lasting memories during outdoor adventures. Her passion for cooking filled their home with delicious aromas that will be deeply missed.

The great outdoors held a special place in Kim's heart. Whether she was out on the water or simply enjoying nature's beauty from afar, she found solace in its tranquility. Music also played an integral role in her life—its melodies providing comfort during both joyful celebrations and difficult times.

Kim had an innate desire to help others—a quality that endeared her to all who knew her. She touched countless lives with kindness and generosity throughout the years. Her love extended beyond people to include numerous pets whom she adored dearly.

In addition to being surrounded by loved ones at home, Kim received exceptional care from a dedicated team of doctors and caregivers over the past years—an act of compassion for which her family is eternally grateful.

There will be no funeral services per Kim’s wishes but instead a celebration of life where friends can come together to honor her memory through shared stories about how she impacted their lives so profoundly over these many years.

To all those who offered prayers during Kim's battle against illness: your support did not go unnoticed nor unappreciated—it provided strength when it mattered most.

Though our hearts ache at this profound loss, we take solace knowing that Kim has finally found peace after bravely fighting for so long.

May Kimberly Dawn Doherty DeForrest rest peacefully knowing that she leaves behind an enduring legacy built upon love—a legacy that will continue to inspire us all for generations to come.
