Morton, MS

Laquita Jo "Nannie" Stokley, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at her home.  Her visitation will be held 5pm-8pm Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.  Services will be held 11am Friday, February 9, 2018 from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in Sims Hill Cemetery.  Bro. Joey Smith and Bro. John Gardner will officiate the services.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Ms. Stokley was born in Scott County on June 12, 1933.  She enjoyed working in her yard and growing her flowers.  Jo believed in keeping her house clean and loved sitting in her chair watching the cars pass by.  She loved her church and enjoyed going when she was able.  Family gatherings were a favorite for her because she loved her family very much and enjoyed being with them.  Jo will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Taylor Earl Stokley; parents Jim Burnham Westberry and Mary Alma Massey Westberry; son, Charles Kenneth "Kenny" Stokley; brother, Kenneth Westberry; sister, Ruth Harrell; son-in-law, Billy Joe Cooper.

She is survived by her 3 children, Gloria Jane Cooper of Morton, Burnham Earl Stokley (Debbie) of Morton and Roger Gray Stokley (Shelia) of Morton; sister, Janie Harrison (Bobby) of Morton; 6 grandchildren, Wendy Easterling (Ernie), Laquita Pettigrew (Johnny), Leslie Wooten (Dan), Ryan Stokley (Brandi), Lacey Stokley and Chris Stokley; 10 great grandchildren, Lee, Maddie and Maddie Easterling, Taylor and Kylie Trest, Graycee Wooten, Marley Grace and Tanner Stokley, Londyn Jones and Dawson Stokley; care giver, Lula Morgan; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be Chris Stokley, Ryan Stokley, Ernie Easterling, Johnathan Gatewood, Jeffrey Harrison and Dan Wooten.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Harrison and Junior Harrison.
