Larry G Allen

Larry G. Allen, 77, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS.  Visitation will start at 10am Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Oakdale Baptist Church in Brandon, MS with services to follow at 12pm at the church.  Graveside services will be in Oakdale Baptist Cemetery.  

Larry was born in Scott County, MS on April 19, 1947, to Curtis Lee Allen and Hattie Mae Pruitt Allen.  Larry was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church.  He was an avid hunter, especially turkeys.  He loved to work in his yard keeping their 3 acres perfectly manicured and hauling Shirley’s flowers in and out depending on the weather. 

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Fortenberry Allen; step son, Gregg Allen;  stepdaughter Gretta Madison and her husband Turtle; grandchildren, Laken Madison and Kam Madison; and he adored his lil 3 pups, Frank, Jesse James and Scooter. He was preceded in death by his parents,  and a son David Allen.
