Services for Mr. Larry Neale Elkins will be conducted on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 1:00 pm from the Middlefork Baptist Church in Jackson, TN, with the Rev. Glenn Harris officiating under the direction of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington, TN.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 pm on Sunday, October 9, 2016 from the Homewood Baptist Church with the Rev. Phillip Roland officiating. Interment will follow in the Homewood Baptist Cemetery with military honors under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest.
He was born February 27, 1934 in Hardin, KY to his parents, the late Williams Rouston and Gracie Ebye Hurt Elkins. He passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN at the age of 82.
He was retired from the U.S. Air Force, was a Church of Christ in belief, and enjoyed watching racing, playing the guitar, and guns.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, the mother of his children: Bernice Marie Vaughn Elkins, his parents and numerous sisters and brothers.
Survivors include his wife: Katherine Harris Elkins; his children: Larry Douglas (Brenda Kaye) Elkins, Howard Elkins, and Sonya Elkins (Jason) Dugan; his step children: Danny (Pam) Greenway and Kathy (David) Bartholomew; one sister: Doris Hick and one brother: Jerry Elkins; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one step grandchild.
