Larry Milner

Larry Franklin Milner, 72, of Brandon, Mississippi went home to his heavenly father on Saturday, January 31, 2015. Visitation is Monday, February 2 from 5pm until 8pm with services on Tuesday, February 3 at 2pm at the chapel of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, Mississippi with burial at Crestview Cemetery. Dr. Gene Henderson and Dr. Clarence Cooper will officiate.
Larry was born in Mount Olive in Covington County, Mississippi. He was the second of two children born to Frank and Ethel Milner. As a young man, Larry accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and worked each day to serve his Savior. He graduated from Mize High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science in 1965 from Mississippi State University. Larry retired from the Natural Resource Conservation Service as District Conservationist in 2004 where he served the people of Mississippi for over 40 years.
Upon retirement, Mr. Milner continued to serve Rankin County as an environmental consultant for over 10 years. He was a charter member of Brandon Baptist Church and recently had the opportunity to serve the Lord through missions. Larry spent over 50 years loving his wife as Christ loved the church. Larry was a loving, caring, reliable, selfless father who made a difference in his children's lives. Larry’s passions were spending time with his family, spending time outdoors, and enjoying Mississippi State athletics.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Ethel Milner. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jean Willis Milner; his sister, Perry Lou Clouston and her husband John of London, Ontario; sons, Gregg of Raymond; Brad and his wife Amy of Brandon; and Derick and his wife Jennifer also of Brandon; granddaughters Laney, Lily, and Amelia.
Memorials may be sent to the building fund of Brandon Baptist Church, 100 Brandon Baptist Drive, Brandon, MS 39042.
