Mrs. Laverne Pigott, age 80, a resident of Pearl passed away on Monday, July 30, 2012 at Cross Gates River Oaks Hospital in Brandon. Visitation was held 6-9pm Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Funeral service was held 10:30am Thursday, August 2, 2012 at the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in Rocky Point Cemetery. Rev. Marty Wilson officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Mrs. Pigott was born in Attla, County in 1931. She had a big heart and loved doing for others. Mrs. Pigott loved being outdoors and loved her dogs. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthor Long and Nannie Dabbs Long; son, Billy Wayne Wiggins; sister, Elaine Upchurch and 7 brothers, Will, Delma, Ray, Norman, Austin, Oscar and Wayne Long.
She is survived by her son, William “BoPeep” Pigott (Melissa) of Pearl; 5 grandchildren, Lexie, Duncan, Donald, Christi and Misti; 2 great grandchildren, Justin and Landon; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were Johnny Papisan, Dannye Long, Ken Cheeks, Jim Hillman and Duncan Pigott.
