VISITATION: 6-8 PM SATURDAY AT OTT AND LEE FUNERAL HOME IN RICHLAND
Mr. L. D. “Duane” Kier, 81, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 5, 2012 at Hospice Ministries, Inc. in Ridgeland, MS. Visitation will be Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 6 – 8 pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Richland, MS. Masonic Graveside Services will be held at 2:30 pm Sunday, October 7, 2012 at Sinai Cemetery in Florence, MS.
L. D. was born on July 20, 1931 in the Hickory Ridge Community of Rankin County, MS to the late Elvin Chris and Elizabeth Smith Kier. He was a lifelong resident of Rankin County. He retired from Iron Workers Local Union 469, He was a member of the Evening Star Lodge #70 in Florence for over 50 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Florence.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Juanita Hines Kier on January 7, 2012.
Survivors include his daughter, Duann Kier; his sister in law, Claudia Faye Hines Hood; his nieces, Martha Stevens and Sharon Tucker; and three nephews, Jason Hood, Timothy Hood, and Joey Kier.
