Mr. Lee Edwin Knight Jr., age 83, a resident of the Shiloh Community passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Hospice Ministries. His visitation was held 5-8pm Thursday, December 01, 2016 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton and was also held 10am-10:45am Friday at Shiloh United Methodist Church. Services were held at 11am Friday, December 2, 2016 at Shiloh United Methodist Church with burial in church cemetery. Rev. Gary Knight, Rev. David Slaughter and Bro. Booth Poole officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Mr. Knight was born in Rankin County on March 10, 1933. He enjoyed owning and operating his dairy farm for many years. Mr. Knight loved his church and enjoyed the camp meetings. He was one of the people who help start East Rankin Academy and was on the board and very active at Citizens Bank & Trust. Lee Edwin loved his family very much and his grandchildren were the apple of his eye.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lee Edwin Knight Sr. and Rebie Franklin Knight.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Kate Harpe Knight of Shiloh Community; son, Randy Lee Knight (Mary) of Shiloh Community; daughters, Renae Knight of Shiloh Community and Carlotta Edwards (Charles) of Morton; 2 grandchildren, Christina Knight and Rachel Knight; a host of friends and other family members.

Pallbearers were Robert Warren, Richard Warren, Alan Robinson, Eddie Rhodes, Lem Adams, Kyle Rhodes, Steve Flickner and Joe Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers were Wayne Hanson, Richard Peden, Joe Warren, Jimmy Rhodes, Billy Rhodes and Bossie Wadsworth.

Memorials may be made in his name to Shiloh United Methodist Church Building Fund or Nativity Fund.
