Chapel service: 3pm Monday, April 14, 2025 from the Ott and Lee Chapel in Morton.

No graveside service/ Burial will be in Lodebar Cemetery.

Mr. Lennis Burnham, Sr.

Pelahatchie, MS

Mr. Lennis Burnham, Sr., age 91, a resident of Pelahatchie met his Savior face to face on Friday, April 11, 2025. He passed away at the MS Veterans Home in Jackson, MS.

Lennis was born on August 13, 1933, in Rankin County. He loved the Lord and was a longtime usher and deacon at Pelahatchie Baptist Church. He was on the Pelahatchie Board of Aldermen for 8 years. Lennis loved being outdoors whether it be farming, fishing, gardening or squirrel hunting. His grandchildren were the apple of his eye, and he loved his family very much. Burnhams Barber Shop was a longtime business in Pelahatchie. Whether his customers came for a haircut or just to talk, his love for his friends were very special to him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Griff D. Burnham and Luceil Watson Burnham; son, Bobby Lee Burnham; siblings, Myrtle Pace, Eugene “Bo” Burnham and Lynda Faye Burnham.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sybil Gordon Burnham of Pelahatchie; children, Nancy Flint and husband, Jimmy of Madison and Lennis “Buster” Burnham, Jr. and wife, Shirley of Brandon; 3 siblings, Lorraine “Deanie” Melton, Jack Harvey Burnham and Henry Burnham (Mary); 4 grandchildren, Allie Simpson (Martez), Jamie Flint (Emily), Chris Burnham (Sara) and Megan Cooper (Jeremy); 4 great grandchildren, McKenna Simpson, Malia Simpson, Waverly Burnham and Etta Burnham; and a host of friends.

Honorary pallbearers will be his Men's Sunday School Class at Pelahatchie Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made in his name and honor to Lodebar Cemetery Fund or Pelahatchie Baptist Church.
