Leon Purvis Phillips, Jr., 65, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be Sunday, November 24, 2013 from 5 – 8 pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Funeral Services are set for 2 pm Monday, November 25, 2013 from the Chapel of Ott & Lee with burial to follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery in Pinola, MS.
Leon was born on August 30, 1948 in Monticello Mississippi to the late Leon Purvis Phillips and Annie Lee Holmes Phillips. He worked as a sheet metal journeyman for Southern Roofing for many years. He loved hunting and fishing and his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Linda L. Phillips of Brandon; four children, Ronald Lee Phillips (Myra) of Brandon, randy Leon Phillips (Teri) of Brandon, Tina Evans of Brandon, and Timothy Decker (Erica) of D’Lo; three sisters, Patsy Ann Walker of Georgetown, MS, Dolly Garcia (Gabe) of Phoenix, AZ, and Gloria Jean Puckett of Pearl, MS; one brother, Von Ray Brady (Bonnie) of Florence; fourteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
