Leroy Jones

Leroy Wilson Jones, 103, a resident of Brandon, MS, passed away at his home on Tues. Jan. 11. 2022. Visitation will be held on Thurs. Jan. 13, 2022 from 5pm-7pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral services are 10am on Fri. Jan. 14, 2022 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS with burial to follow in the Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS.

Mr. Jones was born on Oct. 21, 1918 in Belzoni, MS to the late James Talmadge Jones and Pauline Schackelford Jones. He was drafted into the military on Jan. 11, 1943 and served as a Technical Sergeant with the United States Army in the Iwo Jima, Saipan and Tinian Campaigns. Mr. Jones retired as a Salesman in the Wholesale Foods Industry.

He is survived by his two sons, Talmadge Jones (Debby) and Greg Jones (Gina); 7 grandchildren, Lori Daniel, Sherra Carr (Ryan), Mandy Stephens (Brad), Emily Dubose (Anthony), Leah Jones (Tommie Vargas), Lauren Carr (Blake) and Doug Habig Jr.; 12 great grandchildren; 2 sisters in law, June Dale Jones, Dorothy Kilpatrick and a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Jones is also preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Audria Jones; daughter, Sherra Jones Daniel; grandchild, Aaron Jones; sister, Ruby McKenzie and 2 brothers, C.B. Jones and James Talmadge Jones Jr.
