Leroy P. McCraw, 89, a resident of Byram, MS passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Funeral services will be held 2 pm Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS with interment following at 3:30 pm at the Clifton Cemetery in Clifton, MS.
Visitation will be held 5-8 pm Saturday at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.

Mr. McCraw was a native of Scott County and the son of Clarence McCraw and Lorena Noel McCraw. He was married to Sarah Sessum McCraw. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Byram, MS. Mr. McCraw was proud to serve his county as a United States Marine during WWII. He worked as a mechanic and truck driver for Texaco many years before retiring. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Byram, MS. He enjoyed coon hunting and gardening. He loved his family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to his life. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.

Mr. McCraw was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Sarah Sessum McCraw; parents, Clarence McCraw and Lorena Noel McCraw; son, David McCraw; sisters, Ann Lewis and Ruby Burkes; brothers, Ken McCraw and Edward McCraw.

Mr. McCraw is survived by his son, Philip McCraw of San Antonio, TX; daughter, Karen (Glenn) Terry of Houston, TX; six grandchildren, Kayme (John) Pokorny, Brandon (Ashley) McCraw, Kristen (Logan) Pratt, Sommer Terry, Heather Terry and Amber Terry; three great grandchildren, John Roy Pokorny, Kenzie Pokorny and Connor McCraw; two nieces, Doris Nell and Sharon Hensarling.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Byram at 7541 S. Siwell Road Byram, MS 39272 or Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave. 7th floor New York, NY 10001.
