Lewis Wayne Blackledge, age 69, of Forest, but formerly of Vicksburg passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at his residence in Forest. Visitation was held 5-9pm Friday, March 27, 2015 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Funeral service was held 10am Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in Morton Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Bro. Arnie Everett officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Mr. Blackledge was born in Adams County on September 1, 1945. He was proud to have served in the United States Army. He enjoyed word working and riding motorcycles. Lewis Wayne just enjoyed life and his family and grandchildren brought him much joy. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Edward Blackledge and Ethel Geufice Perkins Blackledge; brothers, Horace and James Isaac Blackledge and step daughter, Renae Bruce.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Everett Blackledge of Forest; children, Veronica Thomas (Bobby) of Magnolia, Vincent Blackledge (Gilbert Aponte) of Lafayette, TN, Angie Blackledge of McComb, Brooklynn Arthurs of Forest and Dawson Blackledge of Forest; step children, Jamie Pevey (Becky) of Vicksburg, Cindy Sink of Vicksburg, Ronald Pevey (Angela) of Hammond, LA, Signe Creason of Morton and Robert Alford (Lace) of Morton; brother, Chuck Blackledge of St. Louis, MO; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Serving as pallbearers were Jamie Pevey, Dalton Veazey, Corey Gerber, Steven Mathis, Bobby Thomas and John Allen Mathis. Honorary pallbearers were Ike Blackledge, Eric Blackledge.

Memorials may be made in his honor to the American Cancer Society.
