Lewis Brent Cheeks

Lewis Brent Cheeks, 39, passed into Heaven the evening of November 4, 2024. Brent attended Pearl High School and Hinds Community College where he was a proud member of their drumlines. He was widely known for his endearing humor and bright smiles. His engulfing hugs brought joy to all his friends and family. 

Brent had a passion for music, cars and nature. He loved animals and was known for being accepted by them immediately because of his kind nature. Brent had a talent for musical instruments, restorative art, sketching, and playing pool. He enjoyed his trade in mechanical repair, in excavation and operating other large machinery. 

He confirmed his faith and was indwelled by the Holy Spirit through Baptism on Sept 3, 2024. Brent was surrounded by love and family as he journeyed from earth to Heaven. 

He was welcomed by those who preceded him in death, including his grandfather, Alfred "Buddy" DuBose (Canton, MS), grandmother Betty Ruth Cheeks (Tellico, TN), and great aunt Linda Brent (Brookhaven, MS). He is survived by parents Keith and Cindy Cheeks (Brandon, MS); grandmother Rebecca Brent DuBose (Brandon, MS); grandfather William Bill Cheeks (Tellico, TN);  and siblings Seth and Ashley Cheeks (Accord, NY), Rebekah and Erik Appleyard and their daughter Magdalena (Lake Buena Vista, FL), and Noah Cheeks (Broomfield, CO), along with many other family and friends. 

Visitation will be 6-8pm Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS and also starting at 11 am Friday until the 12 pm memorial service at the funeral home.
