Lewis Mclemore

August 11, 1922 — October 15, 2015

Mr. Lewis F. McLemore, age 93 and a resident of Morton, MS entered into eternal glory Thursday, October 15, 2015 at the Veteran's Hospital in Jackson, MS. Funeral services were held Saturday; October 17, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. from the Morton Memorial Garden Cemetery with Pastor Don Cannon presiding, followed up with military honors given. Visitation was held from 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton, MS.
Mr. McLemore was born August 11, 1922 to the parents of Lewis F. and Ada "McCrory" McLemore Sr. He worked for the Gulf Oil Company for many years in maintenance and as an electrician. He was a member of the Masons and the VFW. He enjoyed working with his hands and could fix just about anything, "even a broken heart." His family stated that "he was a master mechanic, and enjoyed carpentry; he loved gardening and could grow the biggest tomatoes ever." He loved his family and would help anyone he could in anyway.
Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis F. and Ada "McCrory" McLemore Sr.; his spouse, Lillie Mae McLemore; daughter, Beverly Thomas; three sisters, Oralee McBride, Edna McBride, Perrylee Nix; three brothers, Roy McLemore, Percylee McLemore and Paul McLemore.
Lewis McLemore is survived by his daughter, Shirley Holmes of Morton; four sisters, Katy Sanford of Grand Prairie, TX, Mary Thompson, Geraldine Cook, Birdie Alford; two brothers Bobbie Ray McLemore, and Clyde McLemore; two grandchildren Ledena (David) Headley of Lufkin, TX and Steven (Danette) Pratt of New Waverly, TX; five great-grandchildren; numerous friends and extended family.
Serving as pallbearers were Steven Pratt, Mitchell Pratt, L. E. Nix, Phillip Stamper, Pete Porter, and Tony Shoemaker.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton, MS.601-732-6571
