Lillian Irene Martin, age 84, passed away June 18, 2014 at her home in Pearl. Services were held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 20 at Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Timothy (Bobo) Phillipson officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Mrs. Martin was a resident of the Forkville and Branch Communities of Scott County and later resided in Pearl, MS. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family, traveling and blue grass festivals.
Lillian Irene was preceded in death by her parents, William Alvie and Rosie Florence Alford and her husbands, Lane McCurdy, Jr., L.C. Steinwinder and Bobby J. Martin; two brothers, Vernon Kamack Alford and Bernard William Alford (Mabel); two sisters, Annie Bell Fitzhugh (Leon) and Florence Wyvonne Harrison (Ausbon); and son, William Tony McCurdy.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Jo Davis of Pearl; two brothers, Samuel Jackson (SJ) Alford (Betty) of Forkville, Arthur Neal Alford (Barbara Dale) of Lena; two sisters, Nellie Shaw (Clifton) of Forest, Mecie Gay Crapps (Buford) of Lena; two grandsons, Shannon Davis (Heather) of Forkville and David Lane Davis (Jennifer) of Madison; five great-grandchildren, Zachary Lane Davis, Hanna Davis, Matthew Davis, Dylan Davis and Brynlee Davis; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers were Robert Lee Shaw, Clarence Crapps, Billy McCurdy, Willie McCurdy, Clarence Thames, Jr., and Jay Simpson. Honorary pallbearers were Buford Crapps, Ollie McCurdy, SJ Alford and Arthur Neal Alford.
