Linda Madden Cappony

November 6, 1944 — April 13, 2025

Brandon

God sent his angels to take Linda Madden Cappony to be with our Lord and Savior on Palm Sunday, April 13th, 2025. She went peacefully at home with her loving husband Nicholas Cappony by her side.

Linda was born November 6th, 1944, in Union, Mississippi, to Martha Louise Staton and Junior Buck Madden. In 1958, the family moved to Jackson, Mississippi where Linda attended Forest Hill High School. She then moved on to Hinds Junior College in Raymond, Mississippi for one year where she was a high stepper in the Marching Band. She married Nicholas Cappony on June 23rd, 1984, at 11 am at the Greek Orthodox Church, in Jackson, Mississippi.

Linda is survived by her devoted husband Nick, her brother Jerry (Edith) Madden and sister Cheryl (Willis) Usry and several loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews.

Linda was employed at Barksdale Bonding Insurance Company for 35 years as a Commercial Insurance Account Executive. She was awarded the Mrs. Roberts Barksdale Award in 2001 and those that knew her would agree that she was always poised and professional with her clients and coworkers.

Linda and Nick joined Pinelake Church Reservoir Campus in Brandon, Mississippi, in 2011, where they enjoyed worshipping Our Lord, singing uplifting songs, and Pastor Chip Henderson’s delivery of the most powerful sermons. They were always the first ones in line.

She loved the outdoors, all the cats that they adopted throughout their 42 years of marriage. She spent time cooking, housekeeping just like her mom. She enjoyed reading books, sunbathing, and shopping. Linda and Nick travelled whenever they could, starting with St. Thomas, Virgin Islands for their Honeymoon. They enjoyed trips to Maui, Hawaii, Mexico and Bermuda where Linda would ride with Nick in a golf cart & watch him play golf during these vacations. When she was home, she really enjoyed watching her Lifetime movies.

Nick would like to thank the Team of Heart of Hospice in Flowood, Mississippi, for the exceptional & devoted care that they gave Linda during the last 4 weeks of her life; Dr. Murphy Martin, Nephrologist, Jackson, Mississippi; Dr. Grey Bennett of Jackson Heart in Flowood, Mississippi & Dr. Todd Perkins, GD Merit Health in Flowood, Mississippi, for their wonderful, compassionate, and professional care. Linda couldn’t have been in better hands.
