Linda Strebeck, 62, passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Crossgates River Oaks Hospital in Brandon. Visitation is 5-8 Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services are 10 am Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at the funeral home with burial in Floral Hill Memory Gardens in Pearl.
Linda was a native of Indiana and a longtime resident of Pearl. She was a member of McLaurin Heights Baptist Church where she had spent many years teaching Youth Sunday School and Discipleship. Linda had served as past secretary to the pastor at McLaurin Heights Baptist Church, having served for nine years. Her hobbies included graphic and cross-stitch sewing and volunteering at the Domestic Violence Shelter, a crisis center for battered and abused women.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Eakins and Natasha Compton; brothers, Walt Eakins and Bob Eakins.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Benny Joe Strebeck of Pearl; sons, Dr. Richard Strebeck and wife Kim of Long Beach and Nathan Strebeck and wife Amanda of Baton Rouge, LA; daughter, Dawn Hollingsworth and husband Chris of Decatur; sisters, Trudy Waggoner of South Bend, IN and Neta Good of Burleson, TX; brothers, Charles Eakins of South Bend, IN, Rudy Eakins of Mishawaka, IN and Patrick Eakins of Charabuska, IN; grandchildren, Jordan Strebeck, John Marc Strebeck, Seth Hollingsworth, Lizzy Hollingsworth and soon to be with us, Cade Chaney Strebeck.
