Mr. Lloyd Kenneth Denson, age 87, a resident of the Ludlow Community passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. His visitation was held 5pm-8pm Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Branch Baptist Church and 9am-10:30am Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the church. Funeral services were held 11am Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Branch Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Bro. Geary Walton, Bro. Bobo Phillipson and Bro. Jim Burns officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Mr. Denson was born in Ludlow, MS on July 26, 1929. He loved being outdoors hunting squirrel, deer and fishing. Lloyd was a faithful member of Masonic Lodge F&AM #493 in Lena and Masonic Lodge F&AM #276 in Pelahatchie. He was an avid basketball and football sports fan. Lloyd loved his family very much and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Raymond Denson and Carrie Lee Penniger Denson.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 22 years, Barbara D. Denson of Ludlow; children, Beth Purvis (David) of Pearl, Ruby Jewel Power of Sebastopol, Linda Sistrunk of Sebastopol, Lora Monk (Ricky) of Sebastopol, John Elmore (Deanie) of Sebastopol, Dan Elmore (Paulette) of Sebastopol, Bob Elmore (Barbe) of Puckett and Ricky Lawrence (Tammy) of Ludlow; 22 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Rob Elmore, Jonathan Elmore, Will Elmore, Davy Purvis, Justin Lawrence, Curtis Higgins, Dwight McDougal and Ben Edwards.
