VISITATION: 9-11 AM THURSDAY AT OTT AND LEE FUNERAL HOME IN BRANDON.


Lloyd Bernard Griffin, 92, passed away peacefully at his home in Brandon, MS on Monday, October 13, 2010. Visitation will be from 9 – 11 am Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Graveside Services will be held at 2 pm Thursday in Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS.

Mr. Griffin was born in Monticello AR on October 20, 1917 to Clara Mae and Lowry Griffin. At a young age his family moved to Vicksburg, MS where he completed high school. He graduated from Draughn’s Business School and began a career with The Dilworth Company that would last for the next forty-five years. During that time he worked in sales and managed several stores in the southeast area before becoming president of the Company.

After retirement, Lloyd moved to Jackson, MS where he met and married Dot Simmons. They spent the next twenty-one years traveling around the United States in their RV. Once they quit traveling they settled in Brandon, Ms and enjoyed their home, their family, their church and time spent in volunteer work at local hospitals.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Harold Griffin.

He is survived by his wife, Dot: his two daughters, Lynda Anders (Wayne) of Meridian, MS, Donna Puckett of Krum, TX; his two sons, Lloyd B. (Tad) Griffin (Kathy) of Richmond, VA and Lowry Stewart Griffin of Norfolk, VA; his three stepchildren, Donna Phillips (David) of Brandon, MS, Sharon Chesteen of Jackson, MS and Chuck Simmons of Brandon, MS. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.

In liew of flowers the family request donations be made to DMA at Brandon United Methodist Church.
