Mrs. Lodena Stewart, age 95, a resident of the Branch Community passed away on January 14, 2020 at her residence. Visitation will be held 5pm-8pm Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Branch Baptist Church. Services will be held 9:30am Sunday, January 19, 2020 at Branch Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Bro. Geary Walton and Bro. Norman Huggins will officiate the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Mrs. Stewart was born in Scott County on February 1, 1924. She loved to travel and see the world. Lodena loved nature and fed and took care of wild animals in the woods. She loved the Lord and was a member of Branch Baptist Church. Lodena was a wonderful grandmother and friend to many people. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lorenzo Measels and Alice Irene Gordon Measels; siblings, Emma Jo Cross, Ruby Joyner, Dorothy Alice McKay and Mitch Measels; husbands, Jack Gray Davis, Fred Phillips, Paul Rippy and Glenn Stewart.
She is survived by her daughter, Alice Jean Druery and husband, Larry of Morton; grandchildren, Stacy Ann Swanner and Daniel Lavell Swanner; great grandson, Jerry (Buck) Darwin Coward II; and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Tim Torrence, Clay Bates, Dalton Tagert, Michael Latham, Mark Measels and Ferrell Madison.
Memorials may be made in her memory to Gideons International.
