Funeral services for Mrs. Lodena T. Myers will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from the Ott & Lee Chapel with the Rev. Don Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Harperville Memorial Park under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest.
Visitation will be Monday, December 28, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Tuesday from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Myers was born November 30, 1930 at Harperville and passed away December 25, 2015 at Lackey Convalescent Home at the age of 85.
She and her husband, the late, Bobby S. Myers were longtime residents of Jackson before relocating to this area over 29 years ago. Mrs. Lodena was a longtime member of the Homemaker’s club, the Jackson Garden Club, and the Forest Garden Club, respectively. A former member, of the Broadmoor Baptist Church in Jackson, Mrs. Lodena was a member of the WMU there. At the time of her death, she was a member of the Harperville Baptist Church, the WMU and attended as along as her health permitted. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, cooking, and always doted on her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Stone Myers; her parents: Alvie and Vadie Townsend; and two sisters: Sammie Upton and Neldi Rose Lang.
Survivors include four children: Ann Mapp of Hattiesburg; Lynnette (Billy) Biglane of Ocean Springs; Kay (Hal) Kirk of Jackson and Ray Myers of Forest; five grandchildren: Megan (Derek) Cleveland, Harlan Mapp, Cliff Mapp, Steven Kirk and David Kirk; one sister: Martha Ellen Marler of Harperville and one brother: Shannon Townsend of Haperville; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Harlan Mapp, Cliff Mapp, Steve Kirk, David Kirk, Derek Cleveland, and Hal Kirk.
