Lilla Lois Putnam Derway , 86, passed away March 6, 2013, at Lackey Memorial Hospital in Forest, MS.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 pm Saturday March 9, 2013 at the chapel of the Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest with interment in Eastern Cemetery. Visitation was held from 1:30pm till service time. Dr. Jim Everett officiated the services.

Born to Otho and Lilla Mae Putnam of the Steele Community in Scott County.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Orris George Tillman, Jr.; her parents, Otho and Lilla Mae Waldrip Putnam; her sister, Charlene Putnam Tanner; and her second husband, John Raymon Derway.
Survived by two nieces, Nancy Tanner Crisco of Brandon, and Amy Tanner McClellan of Tupelo;
and a nephew, Jimmy Tanner, of Forest. Two great nieces, Lane Elizabeth McClellan, of Tupelo; and Kristen Danielle McClellan, of Denver, CO. Special friends, Danny and Diane Burkes.
A native of Scott County, Ms. Derway graduated from Mississippi State College for Women and worked as a microbiologist for The University of North Carolina Medical School where she did extensive research on Tribal Indians in the Southern United States. She returned to Forest area upon her retirement. She was a resident of the Lackey Convelescent Home in Forest.
Pallbearers were Roger Bell, Ryan Burkes, Danny McClellan, Rick Summerlin, William Waldrip and Mack Oglesby.
Funeral services were provided by Ott & Lee Funeral Home of Forest.
