Lois Frances Noland, 83, known and loved by all as “Grannie”, passed away
Monday, July 26, 2010 at River Oaks Hospital in Flowood. Visitation is 5-8 pm Wednesday and 12:30 pm Thursday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services are 2 pm Thursday at the funeral home with burial in Oakdale Cemetery in Brandon. Rev. Steve Wilson and Rev. Bernard Nail will officiate.
Mrs. Noland was born on November 29, 1926 to Thomas Kelly Roberts and Fannie Tucker Roberts, and was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elry Earl Noland, Sr.; son, Elry Earl Noland, Jr.; sisters, Belva Kimbrell, Margaret Sellers and Linnie Morris. She was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church and attended Meadow Grove Baptist Church in Brandon.
Mrs. Noland retired from National Sales, Inc. after over 25 years of service and her hobbies included visiting with family and friends, sitting on the front porch and driving her golf cart. “Grannie” especially enjoyed crocheting afghans, each one being “made with love by Grannie.”
Survivors include her daughters, Lois Ann Willis (Mack), Frances Wells (Marvin) and Gail Thortis all of Brandon; daughter-in-law, Ruth Noland of Brandon; sister, Helen Sellers of Brandon; grandchildren, Teri McGarrh (Mitch), Kimberly Willis, Dusty Noland (Amy), Robby Hall (Erica), Shannon Thortis (Melanie), Kevin Willis (Kellye), Brian Noland, Darin Hall, Shaun Thortis and Wayne Wells (Vanissa) and 16 great grandchildren. Her 10 grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
Her family especially would like to thank her special friends, Ernestine Cooper, Jim Bradshaw, Dr. Thomas LaGarde, Dr. Harriette Jones and the staff of River Oaks Hospital.
