Lois Mae Pryor, 80, was relieved of her journey with Alzheimer’s and died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Wisteria Gardens in Pearl, Mississippi. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 3:00 pm. Visitation will be from 2:30 pm until the time of the service.
Mrs. Pryor was born on October 14, 1943, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Herbert William Stadden and Frances Milburn Stadden. She graduated from Columbia High School in Columbia Station, Ohio, in 1961, and went on to attend Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in education in 1965.
On December 29, 1962, Lois married Charles Pryor, and their marriage was blessed with three children, Liz, Bryan, and Todd. They later moved to Monroe, Louisiana, where they lived for more than 30 years. There, she was a member of North Monroe Baptist Church.
Mrs. Pryor had many hobbies and talents, including sewing, cooking, playing the flute, singing in the choir, and gardening. She also loved to serve others through volunteer work. She was an avid traveler and participated in missions with the church, traveling to the Ukraine multiple times for missionary work.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Frances Stadden, and her sister, Hazel Gallagher. Mrs. Pryor leaves behind her husband of 61 years, Charles Pryor; children, Elizabeth D. Raymond (John) of Lacombe, Louisiana, Bryan C. Pryor (Missy) of Newnan, Georgia, and Todd H. Pryor (Angelia) of Jackson, Mississippi; sister, Joyce Schroth of Columbia Station, Ohio; grandchildren, John Derek Raymond, Monica Lynch, Benjamin Raymond, Hannah Pryor, Kaitlyn Pryor, and Vivian Pryor; and two great grandchildren, Emma Katherine Raymond and Eliza Taylor Lynch.
