Lois Ann McCarty Strothman, of Richland, Mississippi passed away after a lengthy illness on July 12, 2018. Lois was born December 24, 1940 in Tallulah, Louisiana to Basil McCarty and Thelma Pitts McCarty. She spent the majority of her career as an Executive Assistant with the Mississippi Workers Compensation Commission. After her retirement, she enjoyed travel and spending time with her grandchildren. Affectionately known as “Nana”, nothing was more important than her family. She had a love of music and had many talents, but specifically she was a wonderful cook, baker, and seamstress. She leaves behind a rich legacy with her grandchildren.

Lois was predeceased by her husband Charles Strothman in 2010 as well as her parents and brother, Buddy McCarty; She is survived by her two loving daughters, Tracey Echo Mohler and Liane Evans Lee (Bill); grandchildren, Evan Lee, Meredith Mohler Lauren Lee, siblings, Molly Matthews (Johnnie), Basil McCarty (Deborah), and Lonnie McCarty (Sheila); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 15 at 1pm at Glenwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Richland. Brother Chris Goolsby officiating.
