Lorraine Catherine Burnett, 82, passed away on Mon. Jan. 8, 2024, at Brandon Court Nursing Home in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be held on Wed. Jan. 10, 2024 from 5pm-7pm and on Thurs. Jan. 11, 2024 from 12pm-1pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 1pm on Thurs. Jan. 11, 2024 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS. Graveside Services are 3pm on Thurs. Jan. 11, 2024 at the Burnett Cemetery in Smith County, MS.

Mrs. Burnett was born on May 14, 1941, in Smith County, MS to the late Sherman Hammons and Lucille Webb Hammons. She was a member of Leaf River Baptist Church in Pineville, MS and loved gardening and cooking.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammie Ballard (Bart); son, Terry Burnett (Jane); sister, Susie Randall; 5 brothers, Joe Hammons (Judy), Coleman Hammons (Janice), Donald Hammons, Howard Hammons (Vicki) and Micky Hammons (Donna); 5 grandchildren, Zachary Burnett (Brittany), Mykala Shows (Carson), Justin Atwood (Rachel), Hunter Atwood (Sophia), Brittany Ballard and 7 great grandchildren. Mrs. Burnett is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Burnett and a brother, Frankie Hammons.
