Louis Crenshaw

June 27, 1954 — February 17, 2016

A service celebrating the life and remembering golf professional Louis Crenshaw, a longtime participant of the Community Chorus Association of Meridian, will be conducted Friday afternoon, February 19, 2016 at 1:00 pm from the Ott & Lee Chapel. Interment will follow in the Newton Masonic Cemetery.


Visitation will be on Thursday evening, February 18, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Friday beginning at 12 noon until 12:45 pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest.


Echoed by his family for his love of choral music, and a retiree from the golf profession at Brookwood, and most recently a craftsman in woodworking, table building, cabinetry, and general construction, Louis will be remembered for his “ability to stand on his own bearing.” Tinkering with automobiles and being a part of God’s natural creation outdoors were favorite pass times. He was a Methodist by faith.


Louis is preceded in death by his father: Dr. Charles N. Crenshaw, Jr., and is survived by his mother: Mrs. Frances Brown Crenshaw of Brandon.

He also leaves behind five siblings : Charles N. Crenshaw, III, and his wife, Jayne of Brandon; Joellyn C. Brelsford and her husband, Mark, of Dripping Springs, TX; Howard T. Crenshaw, and his wife, Kay of Newton; Jan C. Frady, and her husband, Chad of Chunky; and Kim B. Crenshaw of Newton; three nieces and one nephew also survive.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Community Chorus Association of Meridian, CCAM- c/o Dr. Bob Hermetz, 6008 19th Ave. Meridian, MS 39305.


Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest.
