Mrs. Louise Kyzar Sumerall, age of 91 went home to eternal glory Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the Merritt Health Systems in Brandon, MS. Funeral services were held at the Branch Baptist Church on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Paul Smith officiating and the interment was held at the Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation was held from 4:00pm until 10:00pm Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton and again Sunday, August 16, 2015 from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at the Branch Baptist Church in Branch Community.
She was a long time resident of the Pelahatchie community, but the last few years lived as a resident of the Brandon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brandon. Mrs. Louise K. Sumerall was born in Morton, MS to her parents Thomas D. and Cassie I. "Tageart" Kyzar on August 22, 1924.
She worked for many years at the Davis Poultry Plant in Pelahatchie, MS as one of the line workers among other jobs. Mrs. Louise at one time was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church of Pelahatchie, but over the years had moved her membership to the Crossroads Baptist Church of Pelahatchie, MS.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas D. and Cassie I. "Tageart" Kyzar; her husbands, Roby Sumerall and Rudolph Gray; her daughter, Linda Williamson; her sisters, Doris McCarty and Juanita Denson.
Mrs. Louise is survived by her son James Sumerall (Joy) of the Kyzar Community in Morton; daugther, Debbie Barrett of Pelahatchie, MS; sister, Leona Westbrooks of White Oak, MS; brothers, Earl Kyzar of Paradis, LA and Jim Kyzar of Richland, MS; grandchildren, Will Sumerall, Scott Sumerall, Sandra Sumerall, Victor Sumerall, Michael Sumerall, Matthew Pugh, Chris Harrell and Angela Parker; with several great-grandchildren and friends.
Pallbearers serving were Chris Harrell, Brandon Haley, Jacob Haley, Justin Edwards, Michael Sumerall, and Matthew Pugh.
Arrangements were in entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
