Lozell "Nell" Richardson Hemphill

Lozell “Nell” Richardson Hemphill, 82, a resident of Pearl, MS passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS with the interment following in the Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS. Visitation will be held from 5 pm until 8 pm on Friday, August 19, 2016 and from 10 am until 11 am Saturday at the funeral home. Rev. Scott Crawford will officiate the services. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.
Mrs. Hemphill was a native of Scott County, MS. She was the daughter of Herbert and Catherine Davis Richardson. She was married to Lawrence “Sonny” Hemphill. Mrs. Hemphill was in the insurance industry many years working for Worker Compensation Insurance-Aetna. She attended First Baptist Church in Pearl, MS. She was a member of Ladies of Faith Sunday School Class, Oak Forest Exchange Club and the Pearl Pirates Booster Club. She loved her family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to her life. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
Mrs. Hemphill was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence “Sonny” Hemphill; parents, Herbert and Catherine Davis Richardson; and her sister, Nadene “Dee” Burkhalter.
Mrs. Hemphill is survived by her children, Larry (Isabel) Thomas, Deborah Thomas (Dale) Harris, Terry Thomas and Patti Thomas (Stan) Smith; Ten grandchildren, Brian Thomas, Kris Harris, Bri Stringer, Darrell Smith, Cortni Boutwell, Derek Harris, Michael Thomas, Todd Owens, Lauren Roberts and Tyler Owens; fourteen great grandchildren, Bridley, Brady and Bailey Claire Thomas, Brynna Claire and Braden Stringer, Isabel and Abbygale Roberts, Mason and Mila Harris, Kennedy Grace Harris, Anne Presley and Harper Smith, John Thomas and Samuel Boutwell; many other family members and a host of friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jake Windham, Jeff Bates, David Rigby, Billy Myles, Ronnie Smith, Todd Owens, Joseph Roberts and Vince Vavrunek.
