BrandonLucille Harvey May, 87, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2011, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be 5 pm until 8 pm Friday, December 23 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Funeral services are 10 am, Saturday, December 24 at Meadow Grove Baptist Church in Brandon with burial in Hebron Cemetery. Mrs. May, a lifelong resident of Rankin County, was born February 22, 1924 to Roy Jefferson Harvey and Alma Melissa Graves Harvey. She was a longtime member of Meadow Grove Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. Mrs. May was preceded in death by her husband, Anse Preston May; parents, Roy Jefferson and Alma Graves Harvey; daughter, Virginia May Swilley; grandson, Stephen Douglas May; and her brother, James R. Harvey. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Linda May of Forest, MS; brother, Prentiss Harvey and wife Carol of Tupelo; three, grandchildren, Jeff Swilley, Susan Gipson, Tracie Patrick (Kris); and five great grandchildren.Memorials may be made to Meadow Grove Baptist Church, 3221 Louis Wilson Drive, Brandon, MS 39042 or American Cancer Society, MS Division, Inc., 1380 Livingston Lane, Jackson, MS 39213 or www.cancer.org
