Mrs. Lucille Roland Busby, age 92, a resident of Morton passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Ms. Care Center in Morton. Visitation was held 6-9pm Friday, July 13, 2012 from the Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Services were held 2pm Saturday, July 14, 2012 from the Ott & Lee Chapel with burial in the Morton Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Bro. Jerry Holmes and Bro. Charles Dykes officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee funeral Home of Morton.
Mrs. Roland was born in Melvin, AL in 1920. She loved fishing and going to garage sales. You could always pass by her house and see her working in her yard which she loved to do. She loved her family very much and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Freeman Dykes and Elvie Scott Dykes; sister, Reathea Johnson; 4 brothers, Doyle, Stevie, A.D. and Tillman Dykes.
She is survived by her 4 sons, Elmer Busby (Debbie) of Morton, Willie Busby of Morton, Charles Busby (Patsy) of Morton and Allen Busby (Diane) of Morton; 3 sisters, Doris Dial of Dallas, TX, Mary Baker of Quitman and Merle Busby of Quitman; brother, Charles Dykes of Pachuta; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Wayne Busby, Jeff Busby, Joey Busby, David Busby, Shannon Busby and Eric Busby. Honorary pallbearer was Anthony Busby.
