Lucy Ann Porter Harrell

Lucy Harrell, age 81, a resident of Pelahatchie passed away on March 19, 2024 at MS Care Center in Raleigh, MS.  Visitation will be held 5pm-8pm Friday, March 22, 2024 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton and 2pm-3pm Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Rehobeth Baptist Church in Pelahatchie.  Church service will be held 3pm Saturday at Rehobeth Baptist Church with graveside following in the church cemetery.  Bro. T.J. Porter will officiate the services.  Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton is honored to serve the Harrell family.

Lucy was born in Rankin County on June 17, 1942.  She loved to sew, quilt and garden.  Lucy was known for her baking, especially pies and cakes.  She had a heart of gold and never met a stranger.  Before her health failed she was very active at Rehobeth Baptist Church and loved attending ballgames of her grandchildren.  She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.  

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Lee Porter and Jennive Wilkerson Porter; husband, Joseph Denzil Harrell; 2 grandchildren, Christy Richardson and Curtis Wood; 2 great grandchildren, Cooper Lyn Mitchell and Curt Allen Mitchell; brothers Fletcher and James Daniel Porter.

She is survived by her 4 children, Nelda Walton (Ricky) of Saucier, Connie Moore (Ed) of Pelahatchie, Tim Harrell (Lynn) of Pelahatchie and Paul Harrell (Patricia) of Pelahatchie; 2 sisters, Irene Boykin of Pelahatchie and Phyllis Caudill (Dale) of Forkville; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and a host of friends. 

Pallbearers will be Joey Hollowell, Lanny Richardson, Ryan Brown, Tyler Hollowell, Benjamin Harrell, Blake Hollowell, Landon Hollowell and Jackson Richardson.
