Lucy Thornton, 87, passed away Sat. Dec. 23, 2017 at Merit Health Rankin Hospital in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be held on Tues. Dec. 26, 2017 from 5pm-7pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 11am on Wed. Dec. 27, 2017 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS with burial to follow in the Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS.
Mrs. Thornton was a longtime resident of Jackson, MS and has been a resident of Raleigh, MS for the past 10 years. She enjoyed reading her Bible and daily devotionals. Mrs. Thornton was loved by all that knew her and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband, Orban Thornton; two children, Glynn Thornton and Sandra Smith; four grandchildren, Bradley Smith, Brandi Smith, Ryan Thornton, Reese Thornton and her sister in law, Lois Brown. Mrs. Thornton is preceded in death by her parents, Ealy and Bertha Boyette and eight brothers and sisters.
