INTERMENT in Church Cemetery with military honors.

No Visitation prior to the service.
Family will remain at the church after Graveside Rites to visit with friends.

Luther E. Dearing, age 80 died Tuesday November 27, 2012 in Forest following an extended illness.


Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Thursday November 29, 2012 from the Ephesus Baptist Church in Forest with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Dr. Jim Everett will be officiating the services. The family will remain after the graveside service to visit with friends.


He was born in Neshoba County on November 27, 1932 to John David and Myrtle Watkins Dearing. His family later relocated to Scott County.
Mr. Dearing was a lifelong resident and self-employed businessman. He owned and operated a dirt service, as well as a cattle farm. Prior to his working career, he served his country in the United States Navy from 1953-1956. He was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Dorothy Holly.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Dearing of Forest, two sons; David Dearing and wife Terry also of Forest, Dean Dearing and wife Brenda of Crane, TX and a daughter Debbie Leal and husband Victor of Amarillo, TX., one sister; Betty Perminter and husband Tommy Stewart of Forest, MS., Mr. Dearing also leaves behind a legacy of 9 grandchildren; Martin Dearing, Edward Dearing, Roman Leal, Noah Leal, Trista Dearing, Patrick Dearing, Kim Williams, Shena Snow and Mikel Snow; he is also survived by 7 great grandchildren, Melin Dearing, Caden Dearing, Emily Williams, Easton Williams, Kinsley Woods, Konner Calliham and Kooper Calliham.


Pallbearers are Martin Dearing, Ronald Permenter, Edward Dearing, Mikel Snow, Roman Leal, and Noah Leal. Honorary pallbearers are Patrick Dearing, Matt McCann and Timmy Bell.
