Lynda Shumaker Walsh

February 16, 1968 — June 5, 2020

Brandon, MS

Lynda Carol Shumaker Walsh, our precious LaLa and our center went to be with our Lord and Savior on June 5, 2020. She was born on February 16, 1968 in Fort Walton, Florida to Peggy and George Shumaker.

Lynda married Christopher Walsh, the love of her life and best friend on June 7, 2008. With God’s blessing of this marriage six lives were forever joined together as one. Together God molded Lynda, Chris and the children into an incredible family to fulfill His ministry he planned for their lives.

Lynda was a light everywhere she went and her infectious smile and spirit spread joy to all. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend and princess of the Most High. Lynda lived the Gospel and her faith and trust in God was unshakable, she spent her life growing in ministry culminating in the last five years, where she spread Jesus Christ around the world in the Middle East, Europe, Africa and Asia. Everywhere she stepped God’s grace, hope and love was with her spreading his Gospel. Lynda was an amazing trusted councilor to young women who flocked to her for comfort and support.

Lynda had unquestionable faith and trust in our Lord. She loved serving God. Lynda and Christopher’s present ministry is centered in a small Christian congregation in the Middle East where together they led small groups, Sunday School and preached in two communities. Lynda wrote weekly devotionals that were inspired by the Holy Spirit. Lynda and Christopher most recently went on a mission trip to Kenya, Africa, which was Lynda’s dream, and it was more than she ever hoped it would be. During the trip Lynda ministered to children in the slums of Nairobi, loved orphans, help build a small mud house for a widow and participated in a medical clinic where over a 1500 people came from neighboring villages for two days to receive care.

Lynda was an experienced equestrian riding instructor and prior to the move to the Middle East she instructed children for over ten years at their family farm, Azure Equine Farms. Lynda touched so many lives and loved and supported hundreds of children, always bringing love, laughter and encouragement to all who came to the farm.

Lynda loved to travel and together with Chris and their four children they traveled to many countries around the world making memories that will continue to live on of their many adventures and experiences together.

Lynda loved the Lord, her family and extended family. Lynda and Chris’ family verse is from Philippians 4: 6-9 and Lynda, Chris and all four children carry this with them in their wallets everywhere they go. It is a constant reminder for us not to be anxious, petition God while giving thanks and to think on good things. We are all so grateful for the gift of Lynda in our lives and to see Jesus Christ through her.

Lynda is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Christopher Walsh, her four children Sydney Walsh, Alexander Chunn, Dillon Walsh and Kathryn Anne Chunn; her parents Peggy and George Shumaker, her brothers, David and wife Kim and Carter and wife Rachelle; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Marry Ann and Fred Walsh, her brother and sister-in law, Rick and Wendy Walsh and many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and countless friends.
