Lynn “Sprec” “The Baron” Sprecher, JR died on January 5 2025 at the age of 65 after a long battle with Fronto Temporal Dementia.   He was born in Macon, Mississippi November 11, 1959 to Lynn Sprecher, Sr. And Libby Sprecher. He is survived by his Mother and his wife, Renita Houston Sprecher and their dog Henry.   He attended Central Academy in Macon and graduated from Ole Miss in 1982 with a degree in Business Marketing.   Lynn began his life as a child full of fun and mischievousness and he continued this sweet spirit throughout his life.   “Sprec” is beloved by all his Macon childhood friends. The stories told by Lynn, Taco Bell, Buz McGuire, Bill McCann, and Cindy Nichols are quite entertaining. Back in the 60’s and 70’s kids had to make their own fun with whatever was available outside. (“Go play and don’t come back til dark.”). Whether it be riding bikes, night swimming (unauthorized of course) at the Macon swimming pool, building a camp house on someone else land with items they “found” on their wanderlust adventures in Lynn’s pickup truck, or scaring small children by hiding in a bush and pulling a snake along the sidewalk. Whatever they found to do it was mostly harmless spirited fun. Truth be told, Little “Sprec” was younger than most of his friends yet he was the fearless protagonist of many of these “Tom Sawyerish “ escapades.   During his years at Ole Miss, he became fast friends with Billy Young and many more of his Sigma Chi brothers. Lynn’s charisma, charm, and mischievous personality followed him to Oxford His other nickname, “The Baron” was derived from his alias as a foreign exchange student. Why? To attract girls, of course!   Years go by and in his early thirties, he meets his (soon to be wife) Renita. The meeting occurred at the former Orvis Store on Ridgewood Road. Lynn was the manager of the store. He was waiting on Renita’s friend and Renita thought he might be a candidate for a date. Lynn was handsome, spoke correct English, had good teeth, and seemingly nice personality, (and most importantly) good shoes.   SIDEBAR - A man that doesn’t take care of his shoes isn’t worth two cents!  After leaving the store, Renita scoped out the parking lot at the vehicles in the parking lot. No dirty, muddy pickup was spotted, so….she turned back around and went back into the store. She presented Lynn with her business card and told him if he was interested to give her a call. Two days later he did and that was that. They married August 10, 1991. The Sprecher’s saw no need for children and dogs were a viable option. Throughout their marriage they had many dogs and were all loved unconditionally. Roxie was Lynn’s favorite and she loved him the best too.   Lynn and Renita enjoyed a jam packed fun life. They loved to dance, travel and consume wine and good food. Often others commented they seemed to have the perfect marriage. They did until Lynn was diagnosed with FTD.   “Sprec” loved music. He had an enormous collection of albums, then CD’s. He knew as much about rock n roll as anyone around. Some of his fondest times were playing guitar with his friends at the Jackson Yacht Club on Tuesday nights. They called themselves Pickin’ and Grinnin’. After Lynn’s illness became more acute this was one of his few pleasures. His friends supported him unconditionally and would assist if he missed a chord or a word. Truly a fabulous group.   In July of 2023 Renita could no longer care for Lynn at home. He moved to Summerhouse Beau Ridge in Ridgeland. What a Godsend. Debby Gooch and her staff were amazing and caring. Not only of Lynn but Renita as well.   Lynn was a strong Christian reared in the Macon Presbyterian Church Lynn and Renita attended Christ United Methodist for many years. Lynn was certainly not a choir boy, but he was a caring, fun amazing man. No negative comments were ever uttered about him.   FINAL WORDS OF WISDOM -  Hold on to those you love. You never know when things will change and then it is too late.   Travel now. Don’t wait. GO. DO. ENJOY LIFE.
