Mable L. Roberts, age 82 a resident of Morton passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Mississippi Care Center in Raleigh.  Visitation will be held 5pm-7pm Friday, December 21, 2018 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.  Services will be held 11am Saturday, December 22, 2018 at the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in Morton Memorial Gardens.  Bro. Scott Adcox will officiate the services.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Mrs. Roberts was born in Lauderdale County on August 6, 1936.  She loved to crochet and would sit for hours making Afghans and many other things.  After the kids were grown and left home, Mable decided it was time for her to travel the world and she got her trucking licenses and drove with her husband, Sonny.  She loved the Lord and she served in the church anyway she could help.  Mable loved her family and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, J. Barnes and Wilma Covington Hammond; brother, J.W. Barnes.

She is survived by her husband, William "Sonny" Roberts of Morton; children, Johnnie E. Smith (Dory) of Collinsville, MS, Gwen Hawkins of Mobile, AL, Columbus Lee Smith (Cecile Hauver-Smith) of Collinsville, IL, William Leslie Smith (Tiffany) of Columbus, MS and Becky Dunn (John) of Richland, MS; brother, Sam Hammond of Meridian, MS; 9 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; many great great grandchildren and a host of friends.
