MacArthur Burns, age 76 and a resident of the Homewood community passed away Saturday December 1, 2018 at the Baptist Hospital in Carthage following a brief illness.
Funeral services were conducted at 12pm Tuesday December 4, 2018 from the chapel of the Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest with interment in the Burns Baptist Cemetery. Visitation was held from 9amtil the service time.
Mr. Burns was born on May 8, 1942 in Smith County to his parents William Burns and Pearl Cole Burns. He was a member of Burns Baptist Church. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and enjoyed riding his 4 wheeler. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Bernice Thornton.
Survivors include his 2 children; Kimberly Mitchell and Thomas Burns and his wife Pam all of Carthage. He is also survived by 2 brothers; Walter Mack Burns and wife Peggy, Howard Burns and wife Sybil. He also leaves behind 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Colby Freeny, David Callahan, Arthur Callahan, Todd Burns, Greg Alford and Will Burns.
