Mack Durwood Lofton, 77, went to his Heavenly Home on Saturday, March 12, 2016. Mack was born May 27, 1938 to Curtis Lofton and Minnie Lofton of Raleigh, MS. He was one of eight children and spent his life enjoying his large family. His greatest joy was his six grandchildren, Romeo, Alessia, Connor, Parker, Laura Kate, and Ally. Mack enjoyed fishing, cooking, watching sports, and spending time outdoors. Mack was a very proud Veteran of the United States Air Force where he served as an M.P. and spent time in Alaska. He was a successful independent insurance consultant for over 50 years and never once met a stranger.
He is survived by his children, Kevin (Nancy) Lofton of Guelph, Ontario, Steven (Lisa) Lofton of Gluckstadt, and Karin Lofton (Tim) Taranto of Ocean Springs. He is also survived by two brothers and a sister, John “Hut” (Amy), Harry (Kathy), Dixie Simpson, and by his sister-in-law, Sue Lofton. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, and his sisters, Helen (Carroll) Butler, Bobbi (Howard) Bishop, and his brothers, Martin (Madeline), and Paul, and a brother-in-law, Herbert Simpson.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home, 1360 West Government St., Brandon, MS at 1 pm. Visitation will be two hours preceding the service beginning at 11:00 am.
