Macy Davis

Mary Jane (Macy) Davis, born on January 4, 1944, in Jackson, MS, passed away on January 4, 2025, in Brandon, MS, on her 81st birthday. She graduated from Pearl High School in 1961 and dedicated over 20 years of her career as a medical assistant and secretary for Dr. George Schimmel. It was there that she met her husband, Joe Davis. They met while he was was a patient there.

Macy was an avid reader and talented artist. She cherished her beloved dog, Gigi John.

Macy is survived by her daughter, Delia Ann Smith; her granddaughter, Ava Rose Hilton; her sister, Virginia Thompson; her nephew, Bobby Bruce; and her nieces, Jennifer Lowery and Leslie.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Davis; her first husband, Oscar Smith; her parents, John Bruce and Ann Layton Bruce; and her brother, John Bruce.

Visitation will be held on January 8, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Ott & Lee Funeral Homes in Brandon, MS.
